MILITARY TRAINING PROGRAM
Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) supports Army components such as the National Guard, Army Reserve, and active-duty Soldiers during their annual training drills.
It also actively partners with other branches across joint forces, notably the United States Marine Corps (USMC). The USMC has a longstanding relationship
with TEAD. This partnership is supported by a permanent USMC Ammunition Liaison stationed at TEAD, which helps facilitate seamless cooperation and knowledge exchange.

TEAD’s collaborative training opportunities accommodate joint training for multiple military components, focusing on logistical operations. It provides Soldiers
and Marines opportunities to engage in advanced individual and collective training on critical equipment and munitions handling. This includes hands-on experience
with receiving, configuring, managing, issuing, shipping, and retrograding ammunition stocks — skills essential for operational readiness across all branches.
Annual exercises like Operation Patriot Press are designed to enhance logistical readiness and total force integration. These exercises train units to support the
Army’s strategic positioning by completing mission-essential tasks, including asset realignment, storage reform, and field maintenance.
- Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) from various services gain valuable leadership experience by
managing projects and overseeing Soldiers during real-world mission scenarios at TEAD. This cross-branch environment fosters joint leadership skills and operational
coordination.
- Through joint missions, personnel gain experience in diverse
operational aspects such as local and long-haul freight transportation, driving in varied road conditions, and bulk ammunition handling. This exposure provides a tactical
edge by simulating real-world challenges faced during deployments.
